Adding planned non-financial livestock events

How to add non-financial livestock events like births and deaths as planned items.

Updated over a week ago

While creating your plan, don't forget to add in planned non-financial events such as births and deaths. These events will need to be recorded in the Livestock tab of your plan.

TIP: You can not enter births and deaths in the Working Plan Cashflow tab as there is no cash associated with the event.

For each birth event, you should record the following:

  1. The month of the event. A specific date can be selected by clicking on the calendar and selecting the day. (Event date)

  2. The type of event (Sale, Purchases, Births etc).

  3. The stock class (Code).

  4. A parent class for births (this allows the breeding percentages to be calculated).

  5. Tag (optional)

  6. A description (optional).

  7. The quantity of livestock involved (Qty).

  8. Add any additional information (Note)

  9. Click Add.

TIP: If you can't see a birth event for a stock class, check the code settings.

The breeding status on the code needs to be set to Progeny.

If you can't see a parent stock class on the birth event, i.e. MA Ewes, check the code settings. The breeding status on the code needs to be set to Breeding.

Please note: The above example was for a planned birth event. For other events (such as Sales, Purchases, Transfer in, Transfer out, Deaths, Missing, Found, and Killed) the information required is slightly different but should be self-explanatory.
